CDL Class A Driver’s License

If you want to drive the big rigs, you’ll need a specialized type of CDL: a Class A driver’s license. This license allows you to operate a combination vehicle—a truck towing a trailer—where the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the trailer is more than 10,000 pounds and the combined weight is more than 26,000 pounds. That’s a lot of truck, and it takes a skilled driver to operate it safely.

To get this special Class A CDL license, you’ll need special training, and that can be expensive. There’s no reason to let the high cost hold you back, though. You can have that training sponsored by a nationally known trucking company, such as USA Truck or PAM Transport, when you work with Driver Solutions.

We’ll Help You Get Your Class A CDL

Our mission at Driver Solutions is to help inexperienced drivers get CDL training so they can begin their careers in trucking. There’s a very high demand for drivers, so the best trucking companies are now hiring well-qualified candidates, paying for their training, and offering them a job when they have successfully completed all the requirements for the CDL.

The intensive training takes about three weeks. It includes both classroom work and instruction behind the wheel. If you are at least 21 years old, in good health with a clean record and U.S. residency, a high-paying career with job security is yours for the taking.
