Truck Driver Pay At PAM Transport
PAM Transport offers a great pay package for new truck drivers completing the Driver Solutions company-paid CDL training program and starting an entry-level truck driver job. Shown below are some highlighted details of the driver pay package.
Mileage Pay Options
Truck drivers are typically paid on the miles driven. Starting mileage pay with PAM Transport depends upon the Driver’s Choice scholarship program chosen. That's because the Driver’s Choice program offers you several options to pay for training with different levels of paid CDL training. The amount PAM Transport pays toward your tuition cost directly affects your starting mileage rate. The beginning mileage rate is determined by the scholarship program you choose for the truck driver training. The amount of paid CDL training is selected by you. Automatic pay increases are built in to the pay scale at specific employment intervals. Depending on the scholarship program you choose, you could earn up to $42,000 your first year.
To learn more about the different Driver’s Choice scholarship programs view the CDL Training Program page.
Additional Truck Driver Pay
Additional pay will be provided to PAM Transport truck drivers in a number of situations, and the amount paid depends upon factors determined by the company. These include:
- Company safety bonus
- Loading or unloading freight
- Extra drop off or pick up
- Layover
- Canadian border crossing
Over the Road Training Pay
After completing the CDL training at a truck driving school, new PAM Transport truck drivers will report to PAM Transport for company orientation and over-the-road (OTR) training. This is paid on-the-job training as they continue to “learn the ropes” of becoming a truck driver. During this time, student drivers are paid a salary of $300 per week until training is completed and the student driver is upgraded to a "first seat" driver.
